Promoting Ecosystem-based Adaptation & Resilient Livelihoods (PEARL) Eastern Regions-2023

CAWC with financial support of (NCA-UNDP) implementing Promoting Ecosystem-based Adaptation & Resilient Livelihoods (PEARL) program in Ningarhar, Laghman, Kunar and Nuristan Provinces.

This project aims to support highly vulnerable groups (women, girls, marginal farmers and etc.), using an integrated and environmentally sustainable intervention to strengthen socioeconomic recovery and resilience under three intervention strategies:

Pillar 1. Strengthen Community Participation & Social Cohesion.

Pillar 2. Supporting Women’s Well-being and Strengthening Livelihood Opportunities.

Pillar 3. Supporting Ecosystem-based Livelihoods in 4 provinces with 9 districts of Jalalabad, Behsod, Asadabad, Kunar Khas, Mehterlam, Alingar, Qarghai, Norgram and Waygal, including 9 community CDCs (Shuras).

The project will reach out to 605 individuals (440 women / 165 men) beneficiaries.

The project will cover the target community CDCs including CDC members, community members with different groups such as men, women, children, person with disabilities and elders exist in the selected communities.

The focus of this project will be more on people involved in the ecosystem, such as farmers and gardeners, and people who have a role in cutting forests and destroying the environment, and such active groups in the field of ecosystem restoration and reconstruction, such as women and youths and other activate local structures.
