Promoting Climate Resilient Water Sanitation and Hygiene (CR-WASH) Services Daikundi Province-2023

CAWC with financial support of (NCA) implementing Water Sanitation and hygiene (WASH) program in Sang Takht and Kiti districts of Daikundi province.

Under this program five communities including: Siakhark, Sorkh Oba and Mamka villages covered in Sang takht district and Bolagh and Ghutala villages covered in Kiti district Daikundi province.

The program consisted of four components: Water Supply, Hygiene Promotion, Community Lead Total Sanitation (CLTS) and Community Resilience, with seven outcomes. Two gravity pipe schemes and one solar system pipe scheme will be constructed in Kiti district and two solar system pipe schemes will be constructed in Sangtakht district. Safe drinking water and sanitation facilities will be providing to Sayed Ahmad school students.

By construction of school water supply system and 4 rooms standard latrine, 14 spring will be protected in both Kiti and sang takht districts.

Total 5410 men, women, boys and girls will benefit from this program in the two mentioned districts.

Hygiene, CLTS, WSP, PSS and conflict resolution training will be provided to community people and WASH structures as well.

The overall objective of the Project is to ensure that people live in healthy and resilient communities by accessing equitable water sanitation and hygiene services, reduce the risk of avoidable morbidity and mortality of target communities through provision of WASH services in coordination with health and nutrition interventions in an informed and sustainable manner.
