School construction
The lack of school buildings is a significant challenge for school-aged children in Afghanistan, particularly in rural and remote areas. In some schools, children study either under the sun or use mosques as classrooms. To address the basic needs of these students, CAWC, with financial support from UNHCR, has constructed several school buildings with complementary facilities such as boundary walls, latrines, water reservoirs, and playgrounds. As part of the school construction project, CAWC also constructed sanitary latrines and water supply systems to provide safe drinking water for students and to promote proper sanitation facilities. The playgrounds are designed to offer children a safe and adequate space to play during their free time. It has been equipped with necessary play structures, including a see-saw, slide, climbing frame, swings, and benches, all installed appropriately to ensure the safety of the children.
