Literacy

The literacy rate in Afghanistan is high and most are women and girls. They have been deprived of educational opportunities due to social and cultural restrictions. To support women and young girls in learning basic education, CAWC has implemented various literacy projects in Bamyan, Kabul Maidan Wardak and Parwan provinces with the objective of enabling females to read and write. The projects provided literacy courses for 1000 women and young girls aged 20 -40 years old.
As a result, they are now able to read and improve their knowledge about personal hygiene, sanitation and well being.
