Economic Empowerment
CAWC implemented the Rebuilding Local Economies and Community-Based Horticulture (project in the east region, this provided essential support to highly vulnerable groups, with a particular focus on women, youth, and marginal farmers. Through a comprehensive and environmentally sustainable approach, the project aims to enhance socioeconomic recovery and build resilience. The intervention strategies are structured under the two following key outcomes:
1-Enhancing Local Farmers’ Capacities Through Climate-Smart Agriculture.
2-Building Local Businesses’ Resilience Through Access to Finance and Market Linkages.
This project with the two mentioned outcomes was implemented in 8 target districts of Kama, Goshta, Alishing, Mehterlam, Sawkai, Khasskuner and Paron in four provinces of Nangarhar, Laghman, kuner and Noristan in the eastern region, under this REACH project total planed target were of 2,584 individuals (656 female / 1,928 male) but during the implementation the of the project the target increased and total 3690 individuals, with a breakdown of 409 women and 3281 men, benefited directly from the project, the project covered the beneficiaries who were considered highly vulnerable.
