Twining Program

The twining program was initiated, Agency Coordinating Body for Afghanistan Relief (ACBAR) In 2015. In this program, 40 local NGOs are twined with 15 INGOs. The program is designed to build the capacity of local NGOs through training and mentoring by their twin international counterparts. The ultimate goal of the program is to help small and midsize local NGOs to qualify for Afghanistan Humanitarian Funds (AHF), a pooled funding mechanism that requires extensive regularity, transparency, consistency and overall standardization. While the international fund is declining, resources in the AHF is abundant, but passing the due diligence process requires extensive capacity building.

Therefore, we consider the twining program as an important opportunity. CAWC has been happily twined with Caritas Germany whom we share similar objectives, and work in almost the same fields and geographical areas. Caritas is a German international NGO who has long been working in Afghanistan implementing humanitarian projects.
